Tapestry Design Prize 2025

Project managed the 2025 Tapestry Design Prize (TDP) for Australian Tapestry Workshop (ATW). TDP celebrates the intersection of architecture, design and weaving and pushes the boundaries of materiality and spatial dialogue. The site for 2025 was the iconic Boyd House II / Walsh Street, designed by Robin Boyd for his family in 1957. From more than 150 applicants, the site-specific designs of five finalists were woven by ATW weavers and exhibited at Walsh Street. Selected by a panel of expert architects and designers, the winner of the prestigious $5,000 prize was artist Troy Emery in collaboration with COX Architecture. The winner of the $1,000 People’s Choice Award was artist/architect Jack MacRae from Wilson Architects.

The Science of Arts Residencies

In 2013 as Arts Residencies Manager at Asialink I innovated a new Arts Residencies Laboratory to test new models of creative exchange. One such model was The Art of Science, a reciprocal residency for Australian and Asian artists looking to explore the intersection between art and science. It was a partnership between SymbioticA at the University of Western Australia and Asian host partners. Recipients included Alicia King, Michael Candy and Baden Pailthorpe.

Eliza engaged in and developed experimental models of exchange and collaborations, traversing cultural and epistemological barriers. Her vision and courage to take on, and successfully deliver such complex and challenging projects was commendable.” - Oron Catts, SymbioticA
